Should Election Day Be a National Holiday?
Election Day in the United States is the Tuesday following the first Monday in November of an election year. Election Day could be made a federal holiday if a bill were passed by the House and Senate then signed into law by the president. Approximately two million people who work for the federal government would be given a paid day off, and private companies might follow suit.
